Snowy Cabin

It snowed a few days before Christmas. The roads were crazy and Glen, Nana and I abandoned the beasts at the cabin without power for the night. They seemed to make the most of it, with Chi's fire starting abilities and snuggles together, with Rocket sleeping in our bed!

We have a dead deer in our ravine. Glen buried it a couple weeks before, but bears and other critters have come to snack. On our path up to the Cowichan Valley Trail, the snow very much showed heaps and heaps of "interesting" paw marks. We carry bear spray and Rocket wears a bell ...but these paw marks were big and plentiful, and they were fresh every day. We are not alone!

The beasts - solo at the Lake!
Went we left, no knowing how rough the roads would be, and that we'd have to stay in Victoria for the night, Rocket must have sensed it. Chi captured this shot of him whimpering at the door-
