TrashQuest 2010 - A Small Group but a Big Success

TrashQuest 2010 - collecting rubbish from the local woods with the gang who braved the weather - which ended up dry and warm despite morning "showers".

The big weigh in - over 160kg collected in only one hour. A new addition this year - the rubbish was sorted for recycling...despite slug filled bottles and sludgy cans.

Team McKenna take first with over 45kg. They also won the strangest item prize - with a floor polisher (among others). Team Page were second, Callum was third, and Team Smith/Hamilton were fourth. Mega effort from all.
The little one gets her hands dirty and as the youngest participant takes home a purple bell for her bike as a prize. Ivor was a key contributor as well, scaling the hills like a billy goat.

Good job MegaDob - very slick event with great sponsors, Flying Fox http://www.flyingfoxbikes.com and Stirling Bike Club http://www.stirlingbikeclub.org.uk/index.php.

Kiss or Lick?

Kiss or Lick - a new game designed by Savvy.

Where did it come from?
Savvy started replacing kisses with giant licks. Dad was fine. Mom thought it was gross. So Savvy started dabbling in "mini licks" to try and get away with, as usual, as much as possible - reaching that fine line where a lick and a kiss are tough to discern.

The rules are complicated so I had better detail them here:

1. Savvy comes in for a kiss/lick.
2. You guess, was it a kiss or lick?
3. Savvy tells you whether you are right or wrong.
4. You are usually wrong.

All visitors, beware.

Leadership Conference Year 2: Innovation, Best Practice, and Our Bright Future

This time last year, this blog was first to report on a successful leadership conference with breaking new theories on today's relevant issues:

This year's conference features the same key players (...at least these leaders genuinely take turns letting one another speak!?):

10 Cousins

An awesome weekend of family fun. The first time ever all of Great Grandma's Great Grandchildren have been in one place at the same time, but only just, notice the 2 intruders.

Here's what it looked like being a super star.
Jumping for joy (several hours on a trampoline)

Happy Birthday Savvy (3rd or 4th party, I lost count)
Savvy loves her cousins so much she hasn't stopped talking about them. A huge thanks to all who spoiled Savvy over the weekend.

Cold Shmold

Savvy had a great time at W's party. She changed outfits regularly but I think it's fair to say the "half naked outside in the cold outfit" was her favourite. New Police Officer outfit to follow on another day. Happy Birthday W, thanks for the amazing cake!!!

Birthday Joy

From bikes, to clothes, to personalised water bottles to homeade cards (paper and e), to her very own laptop, to a wicked cardboard train (and one for her mate too), Savvy has had a cracker of a third birthday. More to come chez W and to Kendal too. One lucky duck.

Easter Bunny ++

Epic Easter egg hunting at home and with the neighbours. Clues, maps, and enough chocolate to keep a toddler jacked for weeks. Success.

Wheelie Just Like "My Steven"

Savvy's riding buddy Steven caught this gnarly shot as her North Shore riding advances.

Birthday Party Number 1

Yes, 13 three year olds can sit quietly and paint at their Birthday party. It was really quite amazing. And very very fun for all.

The Bike

The bike for MegaSavvy from Nonno and Nonna was presented early so that she could practise in advance of the family reunion in Kendal. To say it was a hit is a bit of an understatement. Around the house, in the woods, around the Uni... she loves it!
