Halloween 2018

The festivities started the weekend before at one of the best Halloween parties ever. I'm Smartie Pants in the middle and the young lad Grim Reaper-Roberts is behind me. Props to the Harry Potter family for looking amazing. If only Malfoy would get in character...

Savannah carved us up a lovely Mac Ride pumpkin.

Preparing for the Ave chez Zolbrod - a lovely tradition.
Our blue haired witch (from Into the Woods) along with her mates.
The Ave itself is always fun - seeing the little ones dressed up, and an early candy hit never goes wrong. Team V and Nana were out to cheer us on. Miraculously, it stayed dry.
Here is the pup who should have won first place - Nocho as Fluffy from HP. Three heads, homemade. Legendary. Nicole is, of course, Fawkes.
The Candy Rapper and Rocket were in fine form, and Rocket took home 2nd place in the dog costume competition. Do we have a show dog on our hands!?!

Heaps of candy was then collected in the Uplands - bags and bags. Glen and I are still stealing it from the kids' boxes...

YVR - Braces are OFF!

A weekend in Vancouver was a brilliant chance to hang out with Jose and family. Jose cooked up a storm and hosted our MBA dorks for a lovely gathering. So great to see the gang.
We had a great time on the trails. Savannah is our wee mountain biker these days, and Rocket's close behind as best trail dog in the universe- even if the North Shore features were a bit intimidating for him.

Obi and Rocket - what a team!
Oh yeah - we were over to visit Sav's orthodontist. Her braces are OFF!

Kelowna with Shark and Ty

I was spoiled rotten by the Queen of Dorks, Shark Wood, and her awesome hubby, Ty-man. We rode the yummiest of trails, ate the yummiest of foods and drank the yummiest of wines.
The October weather delivered. And so did Shark's bike (thank you, Shark!)

I don't think I'm suppose to share this picture. But we laughed until we cried during the saucy shark photoshoot. I had to capture a smidge of the hilarity.
Nothing like quality time with best mates and a break from work and soccer Saturday to prepare one for a busy Fall. It was amazing.

Heshy

Never miss a chance to embarrass a bestie on her birthday!

Soccer - So Far, the Watching Weather has been GREAT!

Wasps

This was not a good summer for stings.
I got hit while reaching into Rocket's treat bag, on the finger. Dobson got hit in a dramatic fashion at Beaconhill park, and his leg swelled up to the size of an elephant's. Then he got hit on the bare feet while mowing the lawn. THEN he and Mac got attacked by a full nest full of the creatures while playing soccer in the yard. It was bad and in the somber words of Dob, "You don't know how bad it was. You weren't there."

Here's a pic of Glen getting ready to clear said nest a few days later. It's taken 3 attempts but the wasps are still winning.

Pokemon

We thought the craze was over, but Mac is still hooked.

Uncle Ty in Town

We love it when Ty's work brings him to Victoria!
Lovely hanging out with the Rascal Joe... he taught Rocket a thing or two...or the rascal variety.

Spider Madness

I don't love spiders, and it's a bit alarming when their lairs are on either side of you down each narrow path you take, but the webs are winners!

Middle School

Sav's had a bumpy start at middle school, but she's rocking the locker decorations, lights included!

Mac at the Terry Fox Run at Willows

Mac brought out his super hero skills and worked his bought off at the Terry Fox run. Was so proud of him gunning it round the school, lap after lap. YES MAC! What an important cause.

No corker shots as he was running so fast, but I still wanted to capture the moment. And the nap.

Savannah's Soccer

The kid knows how to work hard out there!

Keep it up, Sav!

Rocket Months 6-7

Oh, he's a fine animal.
Still a little bit of biting, but sooooooooooooo much better now that he's through the worst of his puppy teething.

Little did we know when we moved to beautiful Dewdney Ave, that we would take advantage of Uplands Park on a daily basis, sometimes twice a day. It's just a stunning park, no two ways about it.

Berries provided, right into September!

Rocket is AWESOME on the trails. Just awesome.
And not that Willows beach is open to pups, up until next summer, we build the beach loop into our walks. Beautiful.

Rocket's buddy, Nocho, likes to go into the water and "spa" - ie, drop in and soak. Rocket still wades in only up to his "knees".

Early morning walks, while Rocket lies still, waiting to play pounce with another pup.

Rocket had a chance to play with his Auntie, Nova.
 Stunning October sunshine.

 Night night.
