Biking Adventures

We went riding one night at Cowichan, along with Peppa Pig.
The next day, Sav and Mega rode from Cowichan Village to the cabin at Shawnigan (45km off road epic).

Mac and I drove down, then rode from the Shawnigan Lake Provincial Park to the Trestle. Super fun to discover gorgeous single track around the lake, and to experience the valley trail.

Barf

Kids suck

She kept saying, "I barfed, I barfed. I barfed in a bucket."
And I kept saying, "Pass the bucket up front. Pass it up front."
"I can't. I can't."

?????

Then we got to the site, and it all became clear. The bucket was built into the side of the car. I had to ladle out beast 1's barf, one spoonful at a time. Airline barf bag was full.

Camping at Lake Cowichan

We started off on Thursday with a short delay at the vet in Langford (read, 4 hours, for mini surgery for Rocket - spear grass in the nose. He was sneezing a lot, then once sneezed and spray of blood came forth so...). The offending grass was retrieved:
But after some White Spot, some strolling, some candy buying and consuming, and after some Mac Ride related stops, we at last made it to our amazing campsite in Gordon Bay.

The boys swam to the island. Sav wasn't sure...her book was too good.

But she took the plunge in the end!

Rocket was distraught without his peeps!

Post Lake Swim Cabin Heaven

First meal "in" the cabin. Insulation is in!

Drying off by the fire. Lovely.

Camping on the Dock - Shawnigan

I LOVE how the cabin is nestled up in the greenery by our rock. LOVE!

Klynnie's Birthday Dinner - Chez Robère

There was entertainment, beverages, and a mini cake. But don't let me tell you about the Klynnie birthday dinner. You can read all about it in this glowing review!

Chez Robère Restaurant

5 out of 5 stars

Chez Robère is a restaurant situated in the heart of semi-urban area between two bodies of the Pacific Ocean . It is a favorite hangout place for lovers.

As you step your foot into the restaurant, you are welcomed by the magnificent urban setting, a beautiful combination of collectible Adidas kicks and an immense luxury of modernity. Every table gives you a clear view of the chef working in the kitchen.
Those, with no prior reservation are chased away down the street by the guard dog.

The lounge has pictures of life in The Loch displayed on the wall.

The menu offers a wide variety of delicious and mouth-watering starters followed by the main course, specially designed for adults. I had fresh pacific salmon with asparagus and two types of potatoes after my spinach salad with beets, strawberries and goat cheese. An exquisite desert included an expensive chocolate cake with brownies.

All the cuisines were inspired by the owners travels to France. The award winning chef gave a home-made feeling using the best quality ingredients. The restaurant also offers various types of drinks; they serve one of the best wines in the region. The drinks are pricey but surely worth trying.

Entertainment was eclectic and interactive.

Not in contrast, the service was of very high quality. You can see the smiling expressions on the waiters’ face. The owners are full of warmth and thoughtful of their guests.

Because of the brilliant atmosphere and delicious food service, as well as the limo pickup and delivery service (with cocktails). I highly recommend going to Chez Robère restaurant.

Please note that Platinum Amex with no limit is recommended. Reservations are by invitation only.  It’s very posh.

Merci.

Happy Birthday Klynnie!

Tod Inlet

A new Sunday explore with the beasts. Always a pleasure to get time in the green room.

Bear Mountain

Doesn't Rocket look like he's laughing?
When I connected with Glen later in the trail, I mentioned he needed to go find the flowers and off he went. "Totally worth it," he said, later.

Early Bird Ride

We ditched Mac and hit Cobble Hill near Shawnigan Lake for some riding with our girl.

Mother's Day

Savvy was Chez Nanna and Chil, so Mac ran the Mother's day Spa solo.
Rocket was next in line for a pedi pedi.
