We Heart Jalena

Mac is so lucky to have Jalena as his child minder. He is such a happy boy in the morning, shouting out "Lena Day!" as he heads out our door ("Jalena today" as oppose to when he shouts, "Mommy-Daddy today!" on weekends).  We have bought a new home and while we are very excited about the new neighbourhood (Cambie), we are gutted that Mac will need a new nursery:(

Week 1 - Summary for the new job

1. commute: gorgeous, long, long, and long (11km along the beach)
2. colleagues: warm, smart, collaborative
3. challenge: massive, exciting, OMG

Leaving the city to head up a giant, steep, long hill toward the beautiful campus that is UBC.

We missed your birthday yesterday, but not because we weren't thinking of you.  We caught you a wee fish to say Happy Halibut, Dad, Nonno, John!!! It was 73 lbs exactly ;)

Sunshine Coast with Shark

 There's a big water, boat, dock theme from our wonderful trip with Shark to Shark and Ty's family's cabin on the sunshine coast.  Sage and Joseph joined too and we had an amazing four days of fun in the sun.

Never mind me, just out on the kayak, on my own, paddling away. No big deal.

Armed and dangerous.

The troops are all out there on the dock (including Joe, I think.  Sage was resting back at the cabin.)

 

With a bit of help from Tanis' husband and from Marcy, the Sunshine Coast babysitter, Shark, Tanis, and I got to go on two amazing rides. Joe was the bear bait and kept us safe. Single track yumminess.  

 Here we are on Canada day in Horseshoe bay with Dob's ferryboat coming in from his legendary fishing trip with Uncle Ty, Neal, and Graham.  More on that to follow.
