Costa Rica-- the Travel So Far

We flew into Liberia and are staying in the Northwestern part of Costa Rica for our entire journey.

We are so glad we listened to the guide books and hired a 4x4. The roads are as poor as everyone says. For very long stretches, we crawl along over the bumpiest of rocky, gravel "roads". (People say the roads are like a Costa Rican mustache...? I guess the locals wear their mustaches bumpy?)

The driving can be tough.

No, not that tough (see ant carry entire special K flake, solo)

But we have to stop regularly to let Mac walk about and settle his stomach.

See that beautiful strawberry smoothie we bought Mac? Well, it came back up about 10 minutes into our next leg of travel. All of it.

 It's all worth it though. We get to stop by places like this (Llanos de Cortes).

And then settle in at places like this.
