Costa Rica-- La Parque Nacional Volcean Arenal

We have found each of the parks we have visited carries a hefty entrance fee. We are glad the funds go toward conservation (Pura Vida, right!?) and have stopped thinking of these frequent cash withdrawals as "payments", and are considering them more like "donations". They are all worth it. Here was our first venture into the jungle.

This tree is a mere 600 years old.

 The volcano erupted some 50 years ago, killing over 80 mothers and children:(
 It bubbled away for 42 years, and then suddenly, it stopped. Here is Sav on a lava river bed.
