Mac turns 8!!!

Our Mac is a lovely wee boy with the nicest of friends. He still loves pokemon, parkour and is right into jujitsu. He had his first sleepover party with his pals and it was a ton of silly fun, spying on Savannah and her friend, playing games and watching Thor.

Although his sister baked these cupcakes, Mac still doesn't eat baked goods. Chocolate and candy, yes. Cake and cookies, no.

Thank you friends and family, far and near, for the well wishes and birthday love for Mac!

Mac had a toonie party and donated half his funds to a charity of his choice. He opted for homelessness in Montreal as he was still upset about a homeless man we'd seen from last March, barely managing in the cold as we walked passed. He was so distraught that we did not stop to give him money - many tears and much confusion for the rest of the night as we walked on to a warm theatre for popcorn and our viewing of Black Panther. I wish now that we had stopped - gone to a bank machine and circled back to the man, in his torn gloves and his ratty, way-too-thin coat. Yes of course there are more efficient ways to donate, but Mac was moved by this man, and why didn't we honour Mac's compassion in that moment. Sigh.
