Night Night 36

Glentress Glamping Strikes Again: On the Hill

 Chilling at the bottom
Pic-nic lunch.  Kids were great. Parents were awesome. Fires were fabulous.
All in all an A+ weekend.

Glentress Glamping Strikes Again: HQ

The view
Some very intense education going on for Dad on how to thread a marshmallow flump
Never mind that he can assemble it himself, Mac still takes a bottle.

Glentress Glamping Strikes Again: Mac

 No wellies...no worries...

Yes, I am very handsome
Oh no - has he fallen!?
No no, just hanging out with my friends, The Stones.
Mac with Dad and his pretty manbag
Anyone seen Mac? Crap...he's done another runner...

Finished with a forest walk

Boy in a tree.  Ok, it's MegaDob.
Think Sav could have hung out in the river all day.

All in all a fab trip. Tippings/Dobsons are still going strong at the site, and we are hoping for dry so they don't miss the gazebo and so they can continue to enjoy frisbee guts, tennis games, and all the other antics they get up to!

A fab day the beach - Loch Earn

Thanks to Uncle Rick for sorting out all the water fun.   The kids were in the loch all day - crazy Anna didn't even bother with her wetsuit!
We spent the day watching Mac throw stones and the bigger kids taking turns tubing or kayaking.
It was our best day for weather - this shot's a bit dark. We had sun most of the day...really, we did!

A lovely cycle - all ten miles

MegaDob arranged a ride for all the cousins with help from Nonno who ran the shuttle ... which was key to avoiding a massive climb at the big finish.  The ride was beautiful and the kids were amazing - loads of ups and downs and virtually no complaining - just a bit of drama with the odd roll of the eyes.  Jess won Olympic gold for riding the whole way on a bike that was too small, standing up many a climb.
Here's Mac preparing for a ride nap
Lovely lunch stop.

Gold Medal Performance

Along with a Scottish quiz to celebrate the family holiday in the Trossachs, Auntie Andrea arranged a mini Olympics.  Savvy won one day for being bravest on the donut behind Uncle Rick's boat out on the loch.  After being presented with her gold medal, she was very shy.  Didn't know quite what to do with herself...
... and if you believe that...ha! She was comfy in the role of champion.
She then snuck off for ages into the back of Mr Strawberry, changed into the wetsuit she was wearing on the day and popped out the back with the medal round her neck shouting, "Tadaaaaaa!"  Nothing like recreating the moment, Savvy.  Well done!

Four Nights in the Wild

If it looks wet, it's because it was... but it was also great -rain or shine (Auntie Andrea might prefer the shine part though!).
Can't say enough about how helpful the older kids were with Sav and Mac.  Don't know how we are going to cope without them now we're home.
Mac just roamed about unaware of the rising River Forth and other hazards.  But he did catch on with the "car" concept - coming close when he heard an engine turn on and shouting/pointing "Caa, caa, caa".

Thanks for breakfast Jacob!
Thanks for stories Nonno!

Bread on a stick. It's the simple things.
Aw - cuddles with Dad.

You win some, you lose some

The Golden Walk to Dunblane

Thank you Andy Murray - you deserve this post box!

Just as well we hiked in - Dob took Sav straight to her pal's bday party where she loaded up on treats, ice cream and cake!
