Fright Night

A good night of guising.
Perhaps a touch flat since the main peak was the Halloween party in Kendal over the weekend.

There's a story behind this dress...

Late coming down from an Aberdeen work trip. Off the train in the Bridge, hoof it home, swap bags over, hoof it back to station to train to Glasgow for an event. On the train. If I get in at 615pm, to the hotel at 630pm, then showered and ready for 7pm, all will be ok.

Train doors close. Train pulls away. Give a Halloween shriek out loud. Dress is back at the flat.

Arrive at 615...who is open? Go into the first shop I see. A bit too trendy (young), but open and cheap. I ask to see their black dresses. A nice girl (teenager!?) brings a few out. I ask to see some a bit loooooonger. There are none.

And that is why I went to my event hosting 20 guests looking like a hooker. No shot of legs available. But here's Laurel - a great coach whose swimmer one a great award.

Ghost Baby

Savvy, Mac and Ghost Baby at King's Park.

Here is the real Emie - cute as a button...don't know how that Scary Ghost Baby appeared.  She's saying: Mom, are you really going to let Savage take me down the slide, really!?

Yup!

Not to worry, test run was done with Mac and he survived.

Vegetarian in the Making?

Savvy was chomping on a chicken panini:

chomp chomp chomp

"Mmmm. Chicken panini. Chicken. Chicken. Chicken chicken chicken.... hey, mom, how do we get chicken for our paninis?"

chomp chomp chomp

Mom: "We take it off the chicken bone bit by bit."

chomp chomp chomp

Savvy: "Does it hurt the chicken when we take some of its meat?"

chomp chomp chomp

Mom: "Well, no, because the chicken is not alive when we take the meat."

chomp chomp

Savvy: "So this chicken has died?"

chomp

Mom: "Yes, but more that we kill the chicken to get the meat."

Mouth open full of food...no chomping...

Savvy: "We kill the chicken so we can eat it?"

Not a happy Savvy. On we went to bacon and whether Peppa Pig would have to die for Sunday brunch...

Slobber, mud, milk and music

You can see Mac's wet suit from drool, but I couldn't get the camera to capture the giant puddle on the floor. Giant. Puddle.

A nice sunny day for a solo walk. But man the recent heavy constant punishing rain has muddied up the trails. Slip and sludge.

Mac masters the one handed feed. Pretty amazing since it wasn't that long ago that he looked at a bottle in disgust.

Meanwhile, Savvy masters the quiet button on Nonna's keyboard. Much to our relief. Lessons soon, we think.

Halloween Starts Early in the Bridge of Allan

Kitty cat, Scooby and mini Tilly head out for a sleepover with a bag full of Scooby snacks.

Sav puts the finishing touches on her mask made with Aunt Lynnie.
Mac charms the crowd in his Canadian hockey jersey (courtesy of Team Aleman from when Savvy was a babe).

Face paint - a regular activity. Sometimes pretend, sometimes real.

Happy Apple Two - at 9 Months

Happy Apple Two - the lovely lad playing on the couch. Ok, so Mac's at 9 months today is one month older than Savvy was in Happy Apple One - but check out the twin-like properties: http://robdobhowardandco.blogspot.com/2007/12/happy-apple-at-8-months.html
