Super Savvy
The baby (toddler?) never left her PJs last Sunday. Chilled on the front lawn most of the day. A few Savvy bits and pieces:
1. She won't keep a sun hat on. She points one way and throws her hat away the other. We're out of sun hats.
2. She experiments with her gag reflex - she sticks drum sticks and chop sticks down her throat until she gags, then removes said sticks and laughs and laughs.
3. I foolishly gave Savvy a piece of chocolate thinking she might not like it and then glen and I could stop the theatrics of pretending our addiction was for "brown grapes". She was so in love with the taste she carved at my mouth to dig what was left from my cheeks, pealing back my lips and risking her fingers around my teeth to get even a small morsel.
4. She's a wee funny thing, playing with her rocking chair or peak a boo for hours on end. Funny funny.
Eco Blog 7 - Cars
Ok ok - dob was in charge of number 7 for April. I have stolen it and he can have my number 8, May.
Number 7 is about cars. The usual stuff - next car will be an e-friendly car, second hand. Also, for today, no speeding. Only the speed limit or slower for team roberts:
- Speeding kills and loss of life isn't super green
- Speeding leads to tickets and points and £££ - investment which could be targeted toward sensible e-friendly activity instead
- Speeding wastes fuel: hard to get the consistent specifics here but seems widely accepted that the increase in fuel required to accelerate grows exponentially as you go faster and faster. Does it take 10% or 20% extra fuel to go 80 instead of 70 on the motorway? Not too sure, but either way, it's bad. Also, it seems a smooth ride is a petrol friendly one, without frequent change in speeds. Sorry Dobbo Shumacher.
Luckily, we're pretty good on the car front. We bike/walk to work and I take the train on my work journeys where possible. Still, when we do drive (never mind all of our flights...), the above applies.

Sha Sha In the Bridge
Shark (Sha Sha) made it to the Bridge, post Lois Lane conference in Barcelona. We lucked out with some good weather and went on a couple of rides. We also hiked with the mini person to the top of Ben A'an (straight up for Shark's portion of the carry). Savvy took well to her Auntie Shark and even had a wee cuddle on the couch ending in Savvy leaning in for a proper hug. A rare sight for even her Mom and Dad.

Savvy at 13 Months
Savage is king of the castle now that she can walk. She loves roaming about the Stanley House front lawn, up and down the steps, and back and forth on the driveway (her turning radius is about the same as a stretch limo). She's getting more and more aware - she can give proper kisses rather than an open slobber attack and even knows how to blow kisses through the front bay window as you head off down the road. Only part devil then.
The Rabbit Warren
Check out my genius husband - he entered a Kona Slopestyle Stunt Design Competition recently and won first prize with his idea for a "Rabbit Warren". The Kona team have invited Glen to ride with them, and then to view them in action at a competition once they have built "the warren" as per Glen's designs (see pic). The prize? A very posh Kona bike (cause there is so much room in our shed for another bike) and a bunch of great Kona clothing. Good work Dobbo and thanks for sharing in your mega loot!

Brighouse Bay
We're back from a lovely four days camping in Brighouse Bay near Kirkcudbright in the Scottish borders. The pics don't do the weather justice...it's just our camera broke right when the sun came out and burned us all to crispy bacon.
Savage was in good form, except at bed time, during the night, and in the morning. There are only so many times you can send a baby down a wet slide, or express delight at her opening and closing the car glove compartment at 5 in the morning.
Thanks to Andrea, Nonno, and Nonna for arranging the trip and treating us to the company of four little horrors. Also for the babysitting so that Glen and I could go biking in one of Scotland's seven stanes, Kirroughtree (a lovely ride).
Shaun burried by Uncle Glen and Wendy having a think on the beach.
Savvy using the front of the car as a slide...not bad considering she was wearing socks.
Savvy wasn't too bad in the sand. After all, it took weeks to condition her to the feel of grass.
I see London, I see France... Higher, Uncle Glen, higher!
The pasta dinner was soon demolished by a dalmation at the site next door. Glen and I were in the tent so only caught the tail end. Savvy held her own.
