France Interrupted-- Whistler Dirt Series 2015

With my mad turnaround between mountain biking heaven and French paradise, I've needed some chill time to post about the Women's Dirt Series Camp that the wonderful Team LIA went on. Third night in the Alpes, post stroll in Morzine is the night.
It was a great camp-- slow to get going, but picked up big time on Sunday with jumps and launches. These pics of A-Line in the Whistler Mountain Bike Park don't quite do the entrance launch that we cracked justice. It was huge.

This is me practising my air in my Race Face sponsored Team LIA uniform. Thanks Dob, for lending me Gloria and sending me off for a weekend with the gals. Thanks PBC for being such an amazing riding partner and friend, and picking me up on the Shore on an emotional day, immediately post UBC. And thanks Nana for the birthday camp treat.

Third Wheel

Ah, Paris. The city of love. A perfect night for a couple to enjoy a romantic evening...

...Mais Zut Alors!

Even if I was a third wheel for the one night of overlap for Shark and Ty in Paris, and even though I came down with a silly cough, it was a wonderful night-  meeting Ty-man at le J de Lux, prepping chez le Requin, strolling the city for a drink and then an amazing meal, and finishing off with....gelato. Noisette et Chocolat Amarino pour moi!

France. Paris. The Beginning.

 Oh Quasi-- we're baaaaaaaaaack!!!
(some Notre Dame pics with quasi from 2002 below, inlcuding Ty-man...not even the earliest re-appearance of quasi.)

Day 1-- Blue skies, loads of walking around beautiful streets, les Tuileries, le Jardin du Luxembourg (a hop skip and a jump from le Requin's charming flat), and la Musée Marmottan Monet. Picnic dinner in les jardins. Followed by gelato.
Day 2, sur les Vélib' dans le Bois de Boulogne, seeking la Fondation Louis Vuitton.
We found it!
C'etait an amazing building and quite the collection of modern art; loads to appreciate even for a novice like me. Snack Machine (le requiin) shows the lighter side of our time in this museum, below. Dinner at un brasserie. Followed by gelato.

Day 3, Hôtel de Ville was another worthy stop. Half of the beauty was in simply gaining
access which was a very tricky affair. Hats off to the shark for navigating an interesting multi layered reservation system which also seemed to include a bit of a personality test.

A crepe avec Nutella s'il te plait. Mais c'est ma derniere.
Nutella= palm oil= destroys the rain forest. Aurevoir, Nutella.

Wonder Woman

Blog Jack while Wonder Woman is earning a well earned rest in France.

This was a full size poster from Ashley's work colleagues to show how awesome she is and how much she will be missed at UBC.

(I think she actually had to do something like this for real)

Sav. Climbing. It's a thing.

Lynn Valley River. We love you!

After Mega sent me on an amazing, grueling ride with my PBC (to the top of Fromme, starting our descent on 7th Secret), I met the troops in the Lynn Valley for some good old rock throwing and a dreamy river dip.
Hope to be spending more time there this summer.

"Hey, Monkey Girl!"

said the random Dad at the park, trying to get Sav's attention...

Team Japan, this is where we will go when you are up our way to play an epic game of rounders.
Super sweet park.

Is it just me, or is Tan actually making that cone work?

Savvy Dropping into the Bike Park in Squamish

Leftover pics from May Long. Holding out in Squamish until after dinner to wait out the traffic.
Hard core.
