Quotes from the Kidlets

Mac
"Shouldn't we be using Hulk's poo as fertilizer to make our veggies even stronger?"

Sav
Sav came home with her dictée full of red, red and more red corrections from Mme Jacquet. More mistakes than all year combined. Her take?

"Well, the lesson here is that when I study, I do better. I do poorly when I don't. Isn't that a good lesson, Mommy?" (clever escape, young child).

Mac
"When my friends exclude me from games, it makes me feel like the number zero."
(heart breaks as I watch his wee face break into tears as he describes his emotions.)

Sav
"Imagine a painting of someone making a painting,"....

(Lovely, really enjoying reading this book on "Art" with Sav).

..."In RescueBots, Bulldozer, the transformer who bulldozes... (oh no...what happened...we were just looking at sculptures and photography...)...likes to draw pictures of how he is feeling, whether it is sad, angry or happy. It helps him.

(ok, and we're back on track. Thank you, Transformer producers, for your sensitive approach to the characters of your robot/vehicles!!!).

Mac
"Mom, when are you bringing "the Force"."
Huh!?
"You know, the Force. The good guy Force. You should bring it to the breakfast table."

May Long was simply not long enough

"Can we move here, to this very campsite?", asked both kids. It was pretty sweet.
Cutest kidlets were in heaven free ranging about the lake.
Cutest adults also in heaven while kids were free ranging about the lake!

Campfires were on at both sites morning and night.

 Buttercup love
A Camping Crasher of the best kind swooshed in for a couple of rides.

Wee Mac doesn't let up with his bed sharing manners. Even in the tent, he abandons his own bed for ours and squishes us to the edges.
Love the nights. This wee scene at the Jay Feather preceded a successful children's fire starting frenzy with steal, flint, and moss. They all outlasted me by hours.

The new tent is suppose to "pop" up. Wouldn't quite call it "popping" but do love the reflection in the cables. Is that new for tents? The North Face did not have it and it led to many late night trips.

Back at Nana's now, laundry done and showers taken...but the flat still smells like campfire!

Half Nelson, Pseduo Tsuga, Credit Line - Riding Bliss in Squamish

In uni, of course
Day two-- same roller coaster amazingness

Day 3...it's early on No-Uniform-Mondays
There's a small chance I "straightened" the shot...to show how steep the climb felt. The trees don't lie.
Some tricky parts on Credit Line, to be sure.
And voila!

Kids on a beach. Busy busy busy.

MegaDob Snob

With more riding at work, on weekends, and even in the odd race, the MegaDob Snob is out in full force.
Here are a few samples:

Ash returns from 7am ride at 930. Day 3 on the trails. Knackered.
Dob: What was your loop?
I show him.
That's IT? The WHOLE TIME?
He then proceeds to do the same loop in 40 minutes.

Dob returns from a ride.
Ash: Were there bugs out?
Dob: Not for me.

Dob returns from a ride that I am about to do.
Ash: How was the climb.
Dob: Steep. You'll need your granny gear.
Ash: I ride in my granny gear up Fromme....?
Dob: You are going to need a new granny gear.

Dob doesn't ride in wet shoes. Yes, Mega uses a shoe drier at night so his feet are toasty dry in the morning. Evidence below. Tough stuff.

Mega will be a Dob Snob on everything "bike", but luckily he drops the 'tude for the kids!

Early Mother's Day

Best morning ever from Team Roberts to MegaMommy.

A nice sharp start to the day so I could hit the trails with PBC. Kids brought me granola in bed along with beauty cards and homemade gifts.

Sav hit Starbucks for my chocolate croissant so I had a treat and a cappuccino on the road. And MegaDob and Mac polished up Gemma, loaded her in Lilly for me, and with a wee bonus sweet treat left on my [carbon fiber] bars to boot!
Couple of LIA Dorks ready for some action below in our Race Face sponsored kit.

Great ride with a great friend. First one back since a dodgy crash a month ago leaving me with bad bruising and some damaged ribs/lung (eek, was hard to get the first one done and no time trials were won, but I'm still standing).

Amazing family.

And now early Sunday is clear for spoiling Nana, celebrating Nonna, and sending love to all our friends who have lost their moms, or have moms who are struggling with their health.

McEnroe vs Sampras Powershares - le Coin Toss

 Matching outfits. Uncool.

Still some pretty good tennis. With a few classic chuckles along the way.
