My special girl

A few classics coming out of the mouths of babes:

Mac
Mac has this wee thing where he likes you to say something so he can finish:
Everybody pees - you say
Everybody poops  - he finishes
Well...

I often say: you're my special boy.
And he says: I'm your special girl.

I can correct him, but it just doesn't sink in. I've even tried, when Mac adopts frog language. to say:

Your my special boy frog.
And Mac says: I'm your special girl frog.

So now I just go with it.

Sav
Very angry at her dad about something totally small, Sav said in her devil voice:
Do you want to know how hard I can SLAP???

We don't condone violence or allow hitting in any way, but we both had to hold back a major laugh.

Thunderbird Mania

We had a great day out at the VPS family day leading up to 4 games at War Memorial Gym. Very good fun!
 Go Thunderbirds!
Sav was late up with MegaDob given soccer, but caught up quickly on the fun.

A wee trip to the park

Saturday Routine

Coach Dobson and Sav (blue jersey with the ball, go Sparks!) hit the pitch while Mac and I loiter at the park.

The difference between famous and infamous

I got on the bus after Friday night UBC games.

I sat beside an older man who chatted nicely with me for most of the journey.  He'd been at the hockey and I at the basketball (we won both games, go Thunderbirds!). We chatted about my phone, his phone, the brightness of screens, his law practice from which he has retired etc.

As my stop approached, he said:

Well, I can't believe I sat beside THE Ashley Howard on the bus. I'll tell the boys she's not quite the sh*t head they tell me she is.

Lovely!

Moma Put Mac to Bed

I've been working a lot lately and Mac's been missing me. So when I do put him to bed ("Moma put Mac to bed!!!"), this is how he goes down.
I'm not complaining.
Can't really breathe.
But not complaining.

Cheeky Press and Lovely Friends

So I have been getting a hard time in the press with my work.
http://www.vancouversun.com/sports/Sport+targeting+social+engineering/9085364/story.html

But I love how special pals have jumped in with comments to balance out the reporting.
And Shark's comment first captured electronically at the bottom of the e-article (above), was even put in print (although sadly edited to miss the funniest line)!  Thanks Shark, LC, Katie and Buttercup!

The Loot

Things chez Team Roberts on the other side of Cambie were still pretty kicking. Our front window display made a spooky reflection.
MegaDob put in a good effort, but he got smoked by Douglas Park on the pumpkin carving...this time.
Tonight, the night after, Mac is lying on a bed of sweets. Yes. Really.
We've had a great time practicing maths with Sav and her stash. She started at 84. We are definitely working on subtractions. Not additions.

We had heard Halloween at Douglas Park was legendary...

And it was!
