We're happy!:)

And famous people just seem to want to hang around the Scottish Team GB supporters. What can we say? http://www.katherinejenkins.co.uk/

More Nerdy Games Updates

http://scottishswimming.wordpress.com

A lovely evening yesterday

The rain eased off, we were well fed, and more importantly, Aberdeen/Glasgow's Robbie made the final of a blue ribbon power event - the 200m free. In the final tonight.

London Baby!

After a very long wait, here we are in London.  GB in the pool today featured loads of Scots.  Not everything went to plan, but some great stuff along the way.
Derna does the home baking back at base.
 At the pool.
Shark and Ty also at the pool - looking gorgeous on their 11th anniversary here in London.
Kobe Bryant (NBA) sits a few rows ahead of us at the finals this evening.  (The Queen appeared in the morning but was too far for any good pics with my phone.  This time, she arrived on foot and not by jumping from the 007 chopper).
We got some sunshine today (suppose to be our last!?) and enjoyed every minute, even with the evil sponsor in the background.  Lynn escaped the Olympic park to hit the tate and hopefully recover from her jet lag.  Heats tomorrow - early start!

Camping in the beautiful and wet lakes

BBQs, crazy drives over Hard Knott Pass, Lord of the Flies-Like water play grounds for Sav, awesome yet soggy hikes, mini steam train rides to Ravenglass, shoes drying by campfires, dodgy aquarium visit and boat ride on Lake Windermere, a few midges now and again, and a bit of welcome sunshine.

Starting with Auntie Andrea's

This is tricky. Pictures on multiple phones and cameras, spread across various owners and venues... But I will add a few pics from our adventure last week. Starting with Auntie Andrea's.
Hand-me down dress. Jackpot for Sav.
Pick up Shark and Ty from Oxenholme, pick up their VP Van (named by Sav Betsy Blue) and we had a dry night to explore Kendal.
Next morning: lovely walk in Kendal - The Scar.

Picnic at the River Allan

It was a dry day (hooray!), so after tennis and King's park + a quick stop at Toast, we were off to the river Allan.  Team Gardner has a special sneaky spot for a yummy picnic.
Wee guy in the stone throwing zone.

She walks on water. Well, she thinks she can.
 Moms get some camera time.

Hanging out with FLOT - Judy Murray

The papers have named Andy's mom the First Lady of Tennis - FLOT.  Judy certainly pulled a crowd for free lessons this week at Kings Park. So kind and generous with her time.  Savvy loved the lesson. Back for the rest of the week.

Yes, we have a daughter who dresses up for her "friends' weddings"

Gotta respect she can climb a ladder at speed in those shoes!
Meanwhile, between vows and cake cutting, wee guy roams about. There's a reason the back garden looks so lush.  Rain, rain go away!

The Calm Before the Storm

Dob leaves for 10 days of riding in the Alpes tomorrow.  Yikes, solo parenting...

So as a wee treat, the Amazing Amy stepped in to do the bedtime routine and Dob and I went for a hike and some legendary BofA Thai food.  Did a similar date night last thursday (a cycle and fish and chips at the Sherrifmuir Inn) and these have been the only two dry evenings in the last two months, so no complaining from Team Roberts.

Yes, calm before the storm...but the very fun storm (Alpes, visit with Nonno/Dobsons/Tippings in Kendal, camping in Lake District with Shark and Ty, London, visit with Aunt Lynnie, Paralympics and visit with Nana!).
MegaDob's proving he's still got it at the top of Dumyat.

Tipping/Nonno Visit

While I was shopping for Savvy's school uniform (http://scalthwaiterigg.blogspot.co.uk/2012/07/school-uniform.html), Mac was rearranging the shop shelves.
Post crokinole game of checkers with Nonno. Much more fun than flicking and missing...and she gets to make up the rules as she goes too!
Jess ever patiently walks the wee guy home from Coffee Pot brunch.
Giggles at Nonno's new caravan. Lovely.

Auntie A and Jess From May

Here are a few pics from when Auntie Andrea ran point with the kids while Dob and I juggled a few things.  These were drier times - strange to see the pictures with blue sky!  Thanks Jess and Auntie Andrea!

Nonno's 72nd in the Bridge

All fun and games until the baby marches over to the camera and scoops it.
Happy Birthday Nonno!

Ripping it up at monument park. Oh, and some fishing too.

W's landed some new wheels.  Their awesome. So are Sav's goggles.

And so are fishing in a puddle and going for a wee wonder like a forest elf.
On to the grown up riding...crazy weather before the last moutain bike race for Mega's wee gang.
It's rained so much in Scotland this summer it's actually funny.  More rain due tomorrow ("two months worth in one day", says the forecast).
Mega placed second. Crashed.  Gutted he didn't make number one. Next time.
