Savvy and her pals are in a new toddler biker gang, T4. They were ripping it up in the Uni halls the other day, followed by some time at the jump park. Watch out!

St Andrews Day
We took advantage of the St Andrews Weekend free access at the Wallace Monument on our first snowy day of the winter. A big climb up and a great sledge ride down.
Thanks to MegaDob's anti-masses strategy (entails leaving reeeeaaallly early), we were first in the car park, first in the monument and first to the top. A beautiful day.
Savvy hides so she can help Wallace with one of his secret ambushes.

Kings and Queens - Naughty and Nice
Savvy: Where were you last night?
Mommy: At a work reception.
S: Where?
M: At Stirling Castle.
[Savvy very frightened and upset – too many story books about nasty royal family members]
S: Were the King and Queen there?
M: No, there are no more Kings and Queens there.
S: Why?
M: There use to be more Kings and Queens and they were leaders of the land. They built big strong castles up high so no one could take away their leadership. But the system was unfair because the leaders were chosen by which family they were born into. So the people decided on a new system – Government. In government, we can choose our leader based on skill.
S: How do we choose our leader?
M: We vote. The person with the most votes gets to be our leader.
S: Who gets to vote?
M: Mommies and Daddies, Aunties, Nonno and other adults.
[Without missing a beat]
S: Why not children?
M: Some people think children are too young to know how to choose a good leader.
S: The leader should be nice, not naughty. The leader should have good listening ears and not tell tales.
...hmmm, maybe children should have a vote!?
Savvy found a new royal throne to sit on of her own

Are We Mad?
Yes!
Carpet from India - silk, stains and damages easily.
New coffee table - glass, wobbly, and always dirty.
Perfect items for a 3 year old and a new baby.
But the living room looks pretty.

Two New Canucks
It is with sadness and joy that we say goodbye to Jonathon and Lizzie. They are off to Ottawa for a new chapter in January. Glasgow/Scotland won't be the same, but Canada will enjoy the new recruits.
Pic: out on our bikes in the wet and chill, training up J&L for a cold Canadian welcome.

Toffee Apples
MegaDob came up trumps with toffee apples for Guy Fawkes Night. The BofA fire works were pretty cool considering the expected cut backs. Amazingly, a dry night which helped with a good buzz in the village.
In other news. Savvy is 3.5 going on 35. Some of her most common expressions:
1. I know that already.
2. I told you that already.
3. Why are you telling me that again?
And, the aforementioned,
4. You are not my best friend any more.
On the plus, Savvy's biking has taken a massive stride forward with the practise of the long slog to nursery and back and she's a bit of toddler cycling legend in the local area. She can start on her own, she can fly down steep hills and break with confidence, ride down curbs, ride standing up, aggressively scold drivers in cars that don't stop for cycling commuters, and do mini skids in the Fall leaves. But she's about to challenge her hard core image by insisting on a flowery basket for the front of her set up. Questionable accessories aside, I have to be on a bike myself to keep up with her, and if Glen is on foot with her, he makes it home in a solid sweat.

Fall is here
Sav in the distance making a run up Dumyat.
At memorial park playing frisbee golf.
Hitting the monument (gently) is the big finish for the course. Sav seems to throw a frisbee with her right hand, but sometimes plays tennis with her left. The teachers can't make up their mind which way to go with her. Auntie Caldero would be proud.

The Big Day
Final touches on the pumpkins in the morning. MegaDob went for Tinkerbell gone devil.
Lots of debating over whether to dress as an Indian Princess or a Witch. Witch, in the end.
Face painting.
A nice Fall bike ride in dress up mode to a mini party with a few families at the Macroberts Centre.
Trick or treating with Mhari in the Bridge.
A hot bath back at home before surveying the loot. Then bed.
A great Halloween.

Two months to go
Not happy with the shadow on the door. Would have thought the tummy would be bigger than the behind. Not happy at all.
